Newly released diary entries from Dr. Anthony Fauci reveal his reflections on growing media attention and celebrity status during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to documents released by Sen. Rand Paul ahead of Fauci’s Senate testimony.

The Narcissist-in-Chief: Anthony Fauci’s Diary of Ego and National Wreckage
DAMN. In early 2020, Fauci recorded in his diary how much he was able to make the stock market drop with his lie that covid was 10x more deadly than the flu.

At the same time, in the same diary, he wrote that covid wasn't any more deadly than the seasonal flu.

Anthony Fauci did not lead during the pandemic. He performed. He did not follow the data or consult dissenting experts. He chased cameras and applause. Rand Paul’s release of Fauci’s 2020–2022 personal diaries exposes a media-obsessed egomaniac whose real job was image management—morning-to-night television hits, photo ops, and meticulous notes on every bobblehead, cupcake with his face, and “Fauci is my hero” T-shirt.
1/9 — My investigation uncovered that Anthony Fauci kept a diary.

What he wrote privately and what he told the country are two different stories.
Today I'm releasing his entries from December 2019 through December 2022. 🧵 pic.twitter.com/58LvmeYkCN
These are not the reflections of a scientist wrestling with uncertainty. They are the scrapbook of a man who treated a respiratory virus as his personal stage. Early on he appreciated Trump because Trump liked him. By year’s end he had transformed into a lockdown crusader and mandate enforcer who branded any critic “far-right” and equated attacks on himself with attacks on science itself. He said it publicly; the diaries show he believed it privately.
Main-character syndrome drove the destruction. Schools closed, businesses ruined, children delayed, the elderly isolated—not because the evidence demanded it, but because hesitation would have dimmed Fauci’s spotlight. Other scientists weighed the same data differently. Fauci could not. Doubt threatened the myth that he was science.

NIH staffers lobbied for awards to feed the cult. He recorded every accolade. When the costs became undeniable and a preemptive pardon arrived, the same man who once embodied certainty discovered selective amnesia. Expect no contrition at any hearing—only performance.
The corruption here is off the charts. Rand Paul has just released a trove of emails showing Fauci soliciting various so-called scientists to nominate him for awards, many of which Fauci then went on to win, receiving substantial prize money in the process.

The diaries strip the myth bare. The official playbook remains lockdown-until-vaccinated. That was never science; it was the policy preference of a celebrity bureaucrat. Trust is eroded, institutions damaged, a generation of children paid the price for adult vanity. Knowing that the man at the center was counting bobbleheads while the data went unread is the first step toward refusing to repeat it.
